The Clay Studio is a spacious, bright ceramics studio on the Kent/Sussex border at Barnsgate Manor Vineyard, set on the edge of Ashdown Forest with far-reaching views towards the South Downs. Surrounded by fields and wild meadows, it offers a calm and inspiring place to work with clay. The studio is fully equipped, with large airy teaching spaces, numerous throwing wheels and beautiful outdoor spaces to work or relax in. Its welcoming atmosphere suits both those looking to step away from busy routines and anyone wanting to deepen their creative practice.

The Clay Studio offers weekly classes led by two experienced tutors, with plenty of individual guidance across hand-building and wheel throwing. Weekend workshops and courses provide focused introductions to new techniques and taster sessions, and the studio warmly welcomes complete beginners as well as experienced potters. One-to-one tuition is also available for those wanting to build skills and confidence more personally, and private customised experiences can be arranged for hen parties, birthdays, Christmas gatherings or corporate team-building days. It is an inviting place to learn, make and connect, and anyone interested in clay is encouraged to get involved.
