Watercolour Holly Leaves

Create your own watercolour painting of a holly sprig, working from direct observation and taking your finished artwork home. Artist Michelle Dawson will guide you through techniques for capturing the colour and shine of holly leaves using different shades of green watercolour applied wet-in-wet.

You’ll learn how to add highlights with the lifting-off technique, and how to give the berries a rounded, spherical appearance. There will be time to practise these techniques before selecting a sprig of holly to use as the subject for your painting.
